This beauty is a traditional 108 Mala using wood beads and circular wooden white beads as the Guru bead(s). This piece measures in length to 11".

The reason I use circles is because they represent wholeness, completion, the circle of life and not to be repetitive but it also means the past present and future.

I choose wood beads because traditionally that is one of the bead types a Mala would have. Wood also represents being grounded, strength, protection, and it assists in a smooth transition in your life on any level.

I chose white as the Guru bead because white represents peacefulness. White is often associated with being pure, fresh and good. The color of a fresh snowstorm illustrates a peaceful and pure winter scene. To me white is all that is good and pure in the world and is very serene. There are many more adjectives I could add but I think you understand where my heart is coming from. As an addition, white goes with everything! HA-HA

Information regarding Mala's: Prayer beads, worry beads or Mala’s are used by various cultures such as Anatolian, Ottoman, Turkish, Greek, Middle East, African, Indian and Asian to count the repetitions of prayers, for repetition of the same devotion a number of times, for meditation, protection from negative energy and to relieve stress. Using Mala’s as a tool of meditation is as old as human history. It is not a coincidence that Prayer Beads are present in almost every culture. Prayer beads have metaphysical and psychological effects on their users. The beads absorb the negative energies.

What is a mala? A mala, which is Sanskrit for garland, is a string of beads—typically 108, in addition to one guru bead—which are used as a meditation tool while chanting, reciting or silently repeating a mantra. Malas help the wearer focus their mind and are often used to recite mantras in sets of 108 repetitions. Malas are made from various types of materials, including gemstones, wood, seeds or crystals. When not used for specifically meditation, Malas can help wearers carry a sense of peace, calm, mindfulness and focus with them throughout the day.

What is a mantra? A mantra—Sanskrit for sound, syllable, word or group of words—is a personal “motto” of sorts that is repeated during meditation to help create focus and self-transformation. When repeating a personal mantra, the meditator can calm the mind to allow deeper levels of relaxation and awareness.

Mala's are traditionally seen wrapped around the wrist like a bracelet or worn just like a necklace. Either way you are benefiting from the powers the Mala carries.

    •  Keep your jewelry stored in a dry room temperature or colder, environment. A jewelry box, a random box, pouch or any container will do. The more humidity you have equals more care.
    • When cleaning your jewelry we advise a simple jewelry cloth that you can find at any jewelry store, drugstore or anywhere that sells jewelry. (AR Jewelry will begin to sell them within the next few months).
    • If you have a tough piece of jewelry that is heavily tarnished and the cloth won't work we advise you to use a simple cleaner. Nothing expensive or fancy needed. They are typically the same. Use as needed and follow the instructions exactly.
